- Badalucco Italian Vero San Marzano Tomatoes are grown on plants tied to poles in and around the Naples area on mineral rich, volcanic soil. Other tomatoes for peeling grow on plants left on the ground and are primarily grown in the Foggia area in the southeastern part of Italy.
- Badalucco Italian Vero San Marzano Tomatoes are hand-picked and are placed in small crates due to their delicate nature. All other tomatoes are either mechanically harvested and dumped into large bins or the tomatoes plants are pulled up by hand and shaken to cause all the tomatoes to fall to the ground. At this point the tomatoes are collected and put into the same large bins.
- Badalucco Italian Vero San Marzano Tomatoes are long, thin and delicate in taste and composition, while other tomatoes are most durable in nature.
- Badalucco Italian Vero San Marzano Tomatoes are produced in extremely limited quantities. San Marzano Tomatoes make up only a fraction of one percent of the total Italian tomato production.
- Badalucco Italian Vero San Marzano Tomatoes have the official seals (symbols) of the consortium of the San Marzano tomato producers.
- Badalucco Italian Vero San Marzano Tomatoes are much more consistent than other tomatoes, since they grow under more controlled conditions, and since they are selected only when completely ripe.
